The Best Analog Tools for a More Intentional Life
Ditch the screens—these simple tools help me think, plan, and stay present.

In a world where we’re constantly glued to screens, it’s easy to feel like our thoughts are never our own. Notifications, emails, and endless scrolling make it harder to slow down, reflect, and actually process life by thinking in complete sentences.
I’ve found that using analog tools—simple, physical objects that don’t require a screen—helps me be more present, thoughtful, and organized. These are the tools I use daily (or almost daily) to unplug and live a more intentional life.
My Planner - The Anchor of My Days
I use my Moterm Luxe A5 planner cover to house the paper monthly and weekly inserts that manage my here and now—appointments, upcoming tasks, and commitments. Unlike Google Calendar, which can feel like "set it and forget it," my paper planner forces me to engage with my schedule actively.
Why It Works:
Helps me visualize my time better than a screen.
Encourages daily engagement instead of passive scheduling.
Reduces digital distractions.
Gratitude Journal: Ending the Day with Positivity
Every night, I write in my Traveler’s Journal Free Diary (horizontal weekly)—a simple practice of listing just a few key highlights from the day that I’m grateful for. It’s easy to dwell on negativity, but this small habit forces me to reflect on moments of joy, no matter how small.
Thought-Provoking Journaling & Reflection Cards
I love using Simplicity Cards by The School of Life and Mind Cards by LSW—they give me meaningful prompts to think about life, values, and priorities. A recent favorite:
"What do I no longer want so much of in my life?"
These cards encourage intentional living and deep thinking—a break from the surface-level content we often consume.
Sticky Notes for Quick Reminders
Sometimes, the simplest tools are the most effective. I picked up a sticky note pad from Flying Tiger, which I use to jot down work reminders, to-do lists, and thoughts throughout the day. It’s a tiny tool, but it makes a big difference in reducing digital dependence.
